Thinking about the possible capacity of reconstruction idea, the parallel is guided with the masterpiece of blazing Gothic – “St. Ann’s” Church.
Not complicating the situation and renewing the present building with minimal means, a unique cloth of blazing architectural plastics is offered for its expression – durable Teflon industrial fabric of changeable shapes. Because of the position of the discussed object in the context (it is located in the street, by the aforementioned masterpiece of blazing Gothic) there emerges an undoubted and compulsory for ventilating relation with the adjacencies. As the main role of architectural value is a priori given to “St. Ann’s” Church, therefore, a newly reconstructed object, as if being in a meaningful bulk, colour and content relation, has to take an adequately responsible position. It must in all senses keep a steady hierarchy (gr. hierarchia < hieros – saint + archē – power) which assists in the background. As the building is adjusted for artistic needs, for reading of its significance a colour is suggested, i.e., essential establishment of painting relations between red (Gothic) and green (new face of the object), as well as façade cloth of changing shapes, as a sculptural representation of ephemeral modernity.
The following means were chosen for the realization of the given tasks. Material: openwork durable architectural fabric of industrial Teflon. Colour: synthetic emerald.
It is suggested to keep almost all the construction of the building. It is suggested to keep the inner structure correcting only the necessary functional but not aesthetical (not making it complicated, they are left as given and interesting attributes of that time) moments. On purpose of harmonizing apparently too heavy general bulk and unclosing more view visible from the street to the side of Gediminas hill, instead of the present last floor it is suggested to project the new one. It is suggested to reduce in perimeter the present bulk of the floor retracting into the inside through 3 meters and lowering through 1 meter. It is projected to install panoramic outside studies in the emerged terraces.
